Tori Johnston

Tori Johnston is a certified 200-hour RTY yoga teacher. She was trained under Nancy Ruby through Yoga Motion Academy in 2020. Tori was trained in Hatha yoga with a solid foundation in the art and science of yoga, focusing on alignment, breath, and movement.

Tori integrates various practices such as asana, pranayama, meditation, and restorative yoga throughout her classes. Tori was introduced to yoga at a young age and found its many benefits when she battled anxiety and chronic illness. Just as she grew through her adversities, her curiosity about yoga deepened, and she constantly wanted to explore what yoga meant. During her college years, Tori found a passion for psychology and finished her bachelor's degree in psychology and philosophy in 2019, gaining a deep understanding of mental health. A year after college, Tori followed her interest in yoga and found herself in a 200-hour yoga teacher training for several months. Since then, yoga has been Tori's main focus in her career and studies.

Tori believes that the teachings of yoga can bring ease to most of life's discomforts by becoming more aware of the mind and body. Her classes are designed to learn about the asanas and move through each pose with effort and ease. She enjoys diving into yogic philosophy and ethics, sprinkling its teachings into each class. Tori is constantly learning and studying the different avenues of yoga to help better her teachings for her students. She wants to create a space for community through her teachings and hopes to build people up, giving them the tools they need to better themselves.
